Political Asylum is a topical, political standup show, featuring some of the best political comedians in Australia. It takes place once a month at The Brunswick Green in Melbourne, and also appears at the Melbourne Fringe Festival and the Melbourne International Comedy Festival.

A core group of regular performers deliver brand new topical standup, alongside stellar guest standup spots delivered by some of Australia's funniest people. Guidelines for performers are simple - Political Asylum is the place for intelligent, topical, political humour.

Political Asylum is produced by Simon Barber, Toby Halligan and Mathew Kenneally. It was co-founded in 2009 by Mathew Kenneally and Courteney Hocking.

Regular performers include Aamer Rahman, Alanta Colley, Damian Callinan, Gerard McCulloch, Jess Moir, Nazeem Hussain and Rod Quantock.

Guests have included Rich Hall (USA), Andy Zaltzman (UK), Wil Anderson, Charlie Pickering, Tom Ballard and many more.
